“Color by the ATL” and “Sahara” will be on display at the Bi-Annual Mercer County Photography exhibit this year.
I realized early on that in my career as a photographer my influences have been other painters as opposed to photographers. Visiting exhibitions of painters that highlighted intense and vivid color was what I have been drawn to. I remember walking into the Philadelphia Museum and seeing the painting “Burning houses of Parliament”! The reds, yellows, and the oranges!! That painting has had a profound effect on my art. The abstract way in which that scene was captured. Bending reality! When I chose photography as my medium to explore it was that painting that drifted into my work as inspiration constantly. I was chasing that work. I was chasing JMW Turner.
It is this journey that I intent to discuss during my presentation.
The 41st inception of the Ellarslie Open is upon us. It’s been a while since I have submitted a piece of art to this exhibition. My piece “Rescue” was accepted into this exhibit.
The “In Technicolor” exhibit is and homage to my love of color. It is where my art started. Over saturated bright colors. It’s how I view the world. I have selected 7 images through my career as an artist that are the best representations of how I see color through the lens of my camera. At Gallery 14 in Hopewell, NJ. I join artists Scott Hoerl and Alina Marin-Bliach who are exhibiting in the main gallery.
My first solo exhibit of 2024. The opening reception will be on March 21 at 6:30pm. Join me for this journey. A history of how I got from where I was to where I am now. Always “Chasing Turning” on “Burning Houses of Parliament” and why is the process of artist collaborations so a important part of how I work.

Jane and I hope we capture the feeling of optimism for the viewers of this exhibit. Jane wants you to feel the complexity of life and the enormous possibilities it holds by the movement of her brush strokes… Color dominates my work. My pieces are bright, vibrant, saturated in color. As part of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival The Propeller Gallery Presents: Altered Images At Hand. Altered Images at Hand, is an online exhibition exploring physical manipulation in photographic works.
Photography being used as a manipulated element within a greater work has significant historical precedents, and continues to be enthusiastically embraced by artists for the virtually unlimited possibilities.
This exhibition presents artists’ works that combine photographic elements altered through photo-collage and other manual techniques of physical modification including cutting, painting, texturing, layering, distorting, and more. It is through this creative intervention of the artist’s hand that new contexts and expressions become evident.
I will be exhibiting two pieces in this exhibit “Reflection-ism 4: MC Inception” and a collaborative piece with artist Jane Zamost called “Daylight 5!”.
